The Girlan winery was founded in 1923 by 23 winemakers, which takes its name from the town of the same name in South Tyrol, the village of Girlan - Cornaiano, in South Tyrol not far from Bolzano. Now, however, the Cantina Girlan has 200 winegrowing members, located in a cultivation area of 220 hectares in the best production areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, thus becoming a point of reference for the entire area. Each production step is constantly and rigorously monitored by the winemaker and oenologist Gerhard Kofler who maintains a close relationship with the conferring members, increasingly improving the exchange of experiences leading to greater quality.

The characteristic of these wines is given by the particular terroir mainly sandy, clayey and rich in minerals located at an altitude between 448 and 550 meters and by the climate, characterized by significant temperature variations both daily and seasonally. A Girlan winery that supports and maintains ancient South Tyrolean vines, such as vernatsch, pinot bianco and pinot noir, but at the same time creates wines of character with international vines, such as chardonnay and sauvignon, which respect the territory of origin.
