Donnafugata

The Donnafugata winery was founded in Sicily in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, the fourth generation of a family with extensive experience in quality wine, together with his wife Gabriella, a pioneer of Italian female viticulture. The name Donnafugata, literally "woman on the run", refers to the novel by Tomasi di Lampedusa, the Leopard, which tells of a queen who fled to Sicily, where the company vineyards are today. An event that inspired the company logo and the graphics of the labels, with a fantastic and feminine language capable of expressing all the colors and spirit of Sicily.

Today the sons José and Antonio lead the company, embracing all the great areas of excellence of Sicilian wine, with different lands with extraordinary potential, such as the Contessa Entellina estate, in the heart of western Sicily; in Pantelleria, a volcanic island with Zibibbo vineyards; the ancient cellars of Marsala, where the refinement and bottling processes take place; on the side of eastern Sicily, in the Etna area and in Vittoria, in the production of wines with a prestigious denomination.

Donnafugata wines contain the flavours, colors and charm of the land, becoming the symbol of a modern and international Sicily.
