Kettmeir is a centuries-old winery in South Tyrol, specialized in sparkling wine but also famous for the interpretations of local vines. It was founded in 1919 by Giuseppe Kettmeier, oenologist and agricultural engineer, in the suggestive area of Caldaro. In the 1960s he inaugurated a project to relaunch the South Tyrolean sparkling wine tradition, starting to produce a Pinot Blanc cuvée subjected to the long Charmat Method. Since the 1990s, the Classic Method has been definitively adopted, capable of guaranteeing a more complex and elegant style which will become the distinctive brand of the cellar. Today the property is entrusted to the Santa Margherita group, which wanted to continue the fascinating challenge of the Alpine Classic Method with great ambition.

The Kettmeir winery is well rooted in the Caldaro area and has always counted on the collaboration of about 60 faithful conferers. These are authentic winemakers who have been cultivating the family vineyards for several generations, for a total of just over 55 hectares. The vineyards rest on the calcareous soils of the mountain ranges of Pochi di Salorno, on the windy valley of Lake Caldaro and on the cold rocks of Soprabolzano, which can reach 800 meters above sea level. An extraordinary territory that guarantees freshness and elegance to the entire production.

Kettmeir wines and sparkling wines are the fruit of the union between the fortunate conditions of the territory and the competence of man. The modern and innovative production methods, recently revitalized with the introduction of technology, are the index of a commercial emancipation that aims to conquer international markets, betting everything on the quality of the production. Expressive sharpness, a crystalline aromatic spectrum, tension, elegance, minerality and freshness are the great qualities of all Kettmeir signed labels.
