Dom Pérignon Champagne is named after the famous monk and procurator of Hautvillers Abbey in 1668, Pierre Pérignon (known as Dom Pérignon). According to legend, Pierre Pérignon discovered what is now called the champenois method. Among other things, he taught this method to Benedictine monk Thierry Ruinart in 1669, allowing another famous champagne house, Ruinart, to become the first champagne house in 1729.

Dom Pérignon is a brilliant Champagne House that draws inspiration and inspiration directly from Pierre Pérignon's philosophy of striving for the utmost perfection in Champagne wine. To ensure the brand's prestigious image, the LVMH luxury group, which now heads Dom Pérignon and owns other illustrious Maisons such as Krug, Ruinart, Veuve Clicquot and Moët & Chandon, leaves nothing to chance. From then on, the values upheld are rigor and intuition, observation and understanding, knowledge and respect, values embodied by the virtuous and emblematic Richard Geoffroy, the Maison's Cellar Master for 28 years. On January 1, 2019, he left the baton to Vincent Chaperon, who joined dom pérignon in 2005. It is now up to him to express the Maison's vision, taking charge of the heritage of existing Dom Pérignon vintages while building new legendary champagnes.

In addition to expressing aromatic complexity, Dom Pérignon Champagnes are distinguished by their structure and body, giving each vintage a unique, precious, and indivisible character. The importance of aromas is also reflected in the beauty of the Maison's gift packaging, often created by renowned artists.
