Cartizze at 400 m: ancient soils of the sea, perlage of extreme finesse

On the highest ridge of Monte Cartizze, the Miotto family has been growing vines since 1838. In 1993, Francesco Miotto, agronomist Paolo De Bortoli and winemaker Loris Dall'Acqua founded Col Vetoraz with a single goal: to express the purity of the Valdobbiadene docg terroir, where soils, formed by ancient marine sedimentation, and heroic slopes sculpt aromas of rare elegance.

    • Altitude & climate - vineyards between 350 and 400 m, constant ventilation and strong temperature ranges that fix freshness and aromas.
    • Pivotal grape variety - Glera protagonist, selected plant by plant on the steep hills of Santo Stefano.
    • Cru and styles - Valdobbiadene DOCG Brut, Extra Brut, Extra Dry, Dry and the Cartizze selections.
    • Method of sparkling wine -making - Long Charmat at low temperature, aging on sui yeasts to amplify finesse and verticality.
    • Acknowledgements - national and international AWARDS attesting to its excellence among Valdobbiadene bubbles.
    • UNESCO protected territory - the hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, a World Heritage Site from 2019, are home to heroic vineyards cultivated by hand on steep slopes.
