A cuvée where three very different GRAPE varieties coexist. Pinot Grigio forms the backbone of this wine, to which it gives structure, breadth, softness and warmth. Gewürztraminer is decisive for the aromatic quality of the olfactory sensations. Riesling is decisive for achieving the right acid balance and enhancing the complexity of taste.
Grapes are vinified by fermentation in 500-liter French oak barrels (20-22°C), maturation in the same fermentation containers on fine deposit for 11 months with frequent bâtonnage. These are followed by another 25/27 months divided between maturation in stainless steel after blending and in glass after bottling.
This wine comes to life from stony and poor soils, deep gravels located between the right bank of the river Isonzo and the Slovenian border, the terroir benefits from good ventilation coming from the west, the proximity to the Adriatic favors a Mediterranean climate that ensures good temperature range between day and night, with a slow ripening of the berries and consequent richness of aromas in the wines, the yields are low and quality. The style and imprint of Lis Neris can be found in the "Confini"; based on softness and complexity, just 10,000 bottles are produced.
