ADDITIONAL NOTES:
For hundreds of years, to increase their income, small communities on the Isle of Arran produced their own distillate using small homemade craft stills. The whiskey produced, known as "Arran Waters," was then smuggled from lagg and sold on mainland Scotland. Today, albeit legally, Lagg's legacy has come back to life thanks to the distillery built in 2017 dedicated solely to the production of heavily torbato single malts.
The Lagg Kilmory Edition is a strongly torbato (50 ppm) single malt Scotch whisky; only Concert TYPE barley and peat that comes from the northeast area of Scotland was used for this version. This whisky was aged for 30 months in first-use ex-bourbon casks and for 6 months in Octave (50-liter) ex-Rioja Red Wine Charred casks before being bottled at 50% vol. without being cold filtered and at its natural color and in 10,000 bottles total.
