Donnafugata's Nero d'Avola “Sherazade” is a Sicilian red wine that well embodies the Mediterranean spirit of one of the most important producers in southern Italy. A product that is a living expression of the territory, made from one of the most typical and representative red berried grapes of the island's winemaking tradition, Nero d'Avola. This "Sherazade", whose name derives from one of the protagonists of the collection of short stories "The Thousand and One Nights" to which Donnafugata dedicates part of its labels, is striking for the perfect balance found between nose and sense of smell. A bottle that gives us a fresh, genuine and carefree drink.
The red wine "Sherazade" from the Donnafugata winery comes from a careful selection of Nero d'Avola, an indigenous Sicilian vine that is grown in vineyards located on clayey-loam soils at an altitude of between 200 and 450 meters above sea level ; after the harvest, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers, macerating for 6-8 days and also carrying out the malolactic fermentation. Then follows the refinement, carried out in steel for about 4 months, and the bottling.
Donnafugata's “Sherazade” is a Nero d'Avola which in the glass shows a bright ruby ​​red colour, with some purplish reflections in the rim. The range of perfumes that spreads to the nose is centered on fruity notes of cherry and plum, alternating with light hints of sweet and mineral spices. On the palate it is full-bodied, tactile, characterized by a fresh sip in perfect taste-olfactory correspondence and by a velvety tannin. It is a very versatile label from a gastronomic point of view, which accompanies different types of dishes and recipes: the only important thing is to always have a good supply available!
