Progetto Biserno was born in 2001 in Bibbona (LI) when brothers Piero and Lodovico Antinori with their nephew Niccolò Marzichi Lenzi (now Managing Director) sensed the great potential of that territory. With instinct and passion, combined with centuries of family experience in the world of wine, they began a parcel-by-parcel study that would later lead them to proceed with the definition of three distinct realities: Tenuta di Biserno, Campo di Sasso and Collemezzano.

Tenuta di Biserno covers about 40 hectares at 90 m above sea level and is the reality from which it all began. The mainly alluvial, clay-calcareous soils create an ideal environment for the selected varieties: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The different exposure of the vineyard and the distance from the sea profoundly influence varietal expression: hence the decision to differentiate production into Biserno - the winery's most prestigious and representative wine - and Pino di Biserno, which tells the story of the territory in a more dynamic way.
