Geographically, the Kremstal represents an area of about 2,400 hectares, located in the eastern part of Austria. The 25 hectares of Salomon-Undhof vineyards are located near the ancient towns of Stein and Krems, where the Salomons have been producing wine since 1792.

The soil type that mainly characterizes this area is called "Urgenstein"; the vineyard soils rest directly on metamorphic gneiss and granite rocks.

In particular, riesling is produced on primary rock soils identical to those in the Wachau region, which borders Stein to the west.

Salomon's wines are not to be counted among those Austrian wines of great alcoholic power; rather, they are classico and fruity wines that have found many admirers with this quality production philosophy.

The rieslings are distinguished by finesse and elegance, and they have incredible staying power, as they demonstrated in a recent tasting, in which the Kögl 1932 Riesling amazed with its incredible freshness.
