Valpolicella is a beautiful area of the Veneto region bordered by Lake Garda, the Adige River and the Lessini Mountains; here the vineyards follow one another on gentle hillsides, caressed to the last by the sun's rays and the exceptional mild microclimate induced by the lake. The strong bond that binds Zenato to this territory results in wines that fully represent the context in which they are born. Absolutely convincing wines with a strong character, fascinating and complex in aromas and taste that reinterpret, in a modern key, an agriculture rooted in centuries. Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is made from strictly selected Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes from vineyards in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, favorably exposed to the southeast and with mineral-rich soils. An Amarone that, despite its characterful edge, surprises with its extreme drinkability and great balance.
Intense ruby color, it opens to sensations of morello cherry, plum and black pepper, vegetal underbrush, chocolate, tobacco and rhubarb. Powerful on the palate, warm and smooth, with vigorous but well-balanced tannins and long balsamic finish.
With feathered and furred game in salmì, with braised beef and with great aged cheeses.
