ADDITIONAL NOTES:
The Amarone Classico Riserva "Costasera" is the expressive and qualitative apex of Masi Amarone. It is, in fact, the more aristocratic version of the Classico “Costasera”, defined as the 'pedigree' red by Masi. This wine comes from the hills facing the sunset, inhabited by rows of vineyards overlooking Lake Garda and absorbing all its savory and fresh essence. From these vineyards derive the best grapes, densely rich in territoriality and endowed with a peculiar finesse.
“Costasera” Amarone Classico Riserva is obtained from a blend that is divided into 70% Corvina grape variety, 15% Rondinella variety, 10% Oseleta and 5% Molinara. The grapes come from vineyards located in the areas of Marano, Negrar, Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano, defined by loose red soils rich in limestone and compact red soils with an abundant presence of basalts. The proximity to Lake Garda enhances the light radiation and modulates the climatic trend, bringing the typical mildness of the lake areas. The harvest, carried out manually, includes a selection of the bunches. After being harvested, these are left to dry for about 120 days in the cellar's ancient fruit cellars. The vinification takes place with the traditional phases of maceration and fermentation and ends with an aging period of about 40 months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels.
