Founded in Reims by Louis Roederer in 1776, the Maison Roederer today is led by the founder's direct descendants, defining itself as one of the last remaining great family-run Maisons. The idea was to create a new Champagne through the construction of a new cuvée idea: Cuvée de Prestige was born in 1876 under the name Cristal. Its subtlety and elegance made it one of the most famous Champagnes in the world, expressing the Maison Louis Roederer's reputation for excellence ever since. The company consists of 240 hectares located exclusively in the Grands and Premiers Crus de La Marne, located in the main territories of the Champagne REGION: the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte de Blancs. The originality of Maison Roederer lies precisely in the diversification of the terroir and vineyards, where the three historic grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are grown. Precise selection and separate vinification ensure respect for the origin of the terroir, traceability of the grapes and perfect knowledge of the fruit of each row. The character of each cru is maintained until blending: the aging wine reveals all its qualities and weaknesses, up to its maximum expression. Maison Louis Roederer's cuvées are born from patient confrontation with the elements, from a meeting of talents, from a science of balances, from a resistant and generous grape that gives birth to a wine of crystal-clear elegance.
