ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Amarone Classico Riserva "Costasera" is the expressive and qualitative summit of Masi's Amarone. It is, in fact, the most aristocratic version of the Classico "Costasera", defined as the 'thoroughbred' rosso in the house of Masi. This wine comes from the hills facing the sunset, inhabited by the rows of vineyards that look out over Lake Garda and absorb all its savory and fresh essence. The best grapes come from these vignae, densely packed with territoriality and endowed with a peculiar finesse.
"Costasera" Amarone Classico Riserva is made from a blend that is divided into 70% Corvina varietal grapes, 15% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta and 5% Molinara. The grapes come from vineyards located near the areas of Marano, Negrar, Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano, defined by loose red soils rich in limestone and compact red soils with abundant basalts. The proximity to Lake Garda enhances light radiation and modulates climatic trends bringing the mildness typical of lake areas. The harvest, carried out manually, includes an activity of bunch selection. After being harvested, these are left to dry for about 120 days in the winery's ancient fruit lofts. Vinification is carried out with the traditional stages of maceration and fermentation and ends with an aging period of about 40 months inside Slavonian and Allier oak barrels.
