Altitude, sand and cooperation: the character of Girlan

Founded in 1923 by 23 pioneering winegrowers and now supported by more than 200 members, the Girlan winery transforms mineral-rich sandy-clay soils located between 448 and 550 m above sea level in theOltradige and Bassa Atesina into wines that enhance alpine freshness and marked temperature ranges. Winemaker Gerhard Kofler coordinates each winemaker to preserve territorial identity and elevate quality vintage after vintage.

    • Altitude terroir - windy exposures, porous soils and cool nights that sculpt vibrant acidity and crystalline bouquet.
    • Native GRAPE varieties - Schiava (Vernatsch), Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir with elegant tannic texture.
    • Internationals with character - Chardonnay and Sauvignon shaped by the Alpine climate without betraying the terroir.
    • Cooperative philosophy - micro-lots followed row by row, parcellar selections and targeted aging.
    • Sustainability - natural grassing, reduced treatments and biodiversity projects along the terraces.
    • Awards
