A rebellious and individualistic wine

IGT Umbria Rosso Torami, was first vinified in 2003 and is named after an estate place name. It was born out of a desire to experiment with a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon to make an appealing, enveloping wine.

The vineyards from which it comes are located in the Lake Trasimeno area of Umbria.
Maceration lasts twenty days in contact with the skins, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel barrels for an equal number of days.

The wine then goes into wood, French oak barriques for ten months while bottle aging lasts six months. Deep ruby red in color, it has a generous bouquet that begins with hints of blackberry jam and then turns to eucalyptus and licorice. Very well balanced tannins and long finish. Perfect paired with game, especially wild boar.
