Johnnie Walker is the most widely distributed Scotch whiskey brand in the world, with annual sales of over 120 million bottles. Originally known as Walker's Kilmarnock Whisky, the brand is a legacy of John Johnnie Walker who began selling scotch from his grocer's shop in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Alexander Walker, son of John Walker, is responsible for several innovations that distinguish whiskey: the parallelepiped bottle and the crooked label.

The parallelepiped shape was chosen to make the most of the loading surfaces of trucks and ships, thus increasing the number of bottles that were transported. Furthermore, this shape also increases the strength of the bottles, thus reducing breakage during transport.

The other particular feature of the bottle is the label which is positioned not horizontally, as usually happens, but obliquely, at an angle of 24 degrees: this expedient increases the space for printing, thus allowing the name and thus making the brand more visible.

Last year Johnnie Walker created 3 limited edition products in co-branding with the television series Game Of Thrones: Johnnie Walker A Song Of Ice (a blue and white bottle depicting a white wolf, symbol of the Stark family) , Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire (a red and black bottle depicting a dragon, symbol of the Targaryen family) and White Walker by Johnnie Walker (a blue and white bottle depicting a walking white man, a clear reference to the "White Walkers” or “Strangers”).

Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire is a rich and spicy scotch, with a subtle peat scent accompanied by slight hints of red fruit and sweet smoky notes.
