Cerasuolo di vittoria "Floramundi" is a rosso that originates within the only DOCG present in Sicily. It is a wine meticulously crafted by Donnafugata, a production reality that, in each of its labels, confirms its blazon and its name as a great Sicilian winery. The "Floramundi" was born from the embrace of the two native red grape vines par excellence, Nero d'Avola and Frappato, which give a profile with intense fruity aromas of black cherry and berries. A bottle in which the tannic com-ponent is skillfully managed, giving a silky sip that is difficult to re-sist.
"Floramundi" combines two native red grape varieties, Nero d'Avola and Frappato, va-rieties grown within vineyards located on mainly sandy and calcareous soils. Harvesting is by hand and fermentation takes place in steel containers, with maceration on the skins for about 10 days. Finally it ages about 8 months in tanks and then in the bottle for at least 7 months.
The "Floramundi" is a Cerasuolo di vittoria that, in the glass, shows an intense ruby red color with brilliant violet reflections. The olfactory spectrum that develops on the nose after opening the bottle shows intense fruity aromas among which the notes of black cherry and berries (blackberries) stand out; the bouquet opens to delicate balsamic nuances of laurel and characteristic spicy notes of black pepper. The palate is full-bodied, with a well-harmonized structure in every component and a velvety sip thanks to the tanni-no. A label with which donnafugata interprets the only controlled and guaranteed appellation of origin in all of Sicily, giving us a wine pleasant and well-made.
