Tenuta Podernovo is a splendid vine-covered hillock in the municipality of Terricciola, within the prized and emerging wine-growing area of the Pisan hills, just a few kilometers from the Tuscan coast. The particular geographical position and the composition of the soil, rich in sand and fossil deposits, create the optimal microclimate and conditions for growing vines.
The wines produced on the Podernovo Estate are Teuto, which, worked for 20 months in large barrels, enhances the area's natural vocation for the production of an elegant Sangiovese, and Aliotto, made from a blend of 60 percent Sangiovese, and the rest Cabernet, Merlot and other local grapes. Tenuta Podernovo's latest release isAuritea, a pure Cabernet Franc. All three wines have an elegant tannic texture, a balanced structure and a finish of persuasive intensity, the Estate's distinctive signature.
