The Cottini family 's success story began in 1925, when Carlo Cottini founded the first family business. At that time, in addition to vines, the farm grew fruit varieties such as cherries, plums, apricots, and olives. Cattle were also raised.
The following generations specialized in wine production. In 1965, Raffaello Cottini bought the vineyard in Caprino Veronese, site of the current winery. Today, Diego Cottini continues the tradition together with his family. Meanwhile, the estate has grown to nearly 140 hectares of vineyards.

Monte Zovo has vineyards scattered across three REGIONS of Veneto. North of Bardolinio is the Caprino Veronese Estate, which lies at the foot of Monte Baldo. Sauvigon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grow here.

The last three of these GRAPE varieties are mainly used for Bardolino. The moraine soils of these vineyards are rather stony at altitudes up to 900 meters.
