APPEARANCE:
The wine has an intense ruby red color, with garnet reflections that take over after long aging.
BOUQUET:
The nose has hints that slowly emerge, from licorice, coffee, plum jam and tobacco to end with a light note of violets.
TASTING NOTES:
The refined structure is in perfect balance with the acid part, which excellently supports the long persistence. The taste is full, austere, velvety and rightly tannic.
SERVING TEMPERATURE:
between 18 and 20 °C
FOOD PAIRINGS:
A fine and refined wine that pairs well with red meats, game and aged cheeses. A wine for very long aging. It should be served at 18°C in a wide goblet that promotes good oxygenation.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
A jewel of the Banfi family, Poggio all'oro brunello is made from single vineyard and exclusively in great vintages.
Soil: area characterized by a large shelf where the soils are developed on brown clay-loam sediments with stones and pebbles of different natures, of limestone origin, well structured and well draining. Training system: spurred cordon
Planting density: 2100 cp/ha.
Yield per hectare: 40-50 q/ha.
Fermentation : temperature-controlled (25-30°) in combined steel and Horizon French oak vats
Aging: 70% in 60 and 90 hl. French oak barrels and 30% in 350 l. French oak barriques for 3 years and 6 months
The production technique used, given the restricted production, is guaranteed only in the best vintages. Called "excellent" and marked by the 5 stars by meticulously selecting the harvested grapes. Maceration takes place at controlled temperature in combined steel and Horizon wood vats and is protracted for 12-14 days.
Matured in barrels 2 1/2 years, the wine is aged in bottle for at least 12-18 months before release.
