On the nose, this Elena Walch red wine re-veils all kinds of plums, blackcurrants, mulberries, blackberries and morello cherries. As if that weren't already impressive, the aging in small wooden casks adds crunch, whole nut chocolate and toasted almonds.
This velvety red wine presents itself on the palate balanced and complex. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Per Sé Kalterersee Classico Superiore flatters with a soft mouthfeel without missing out on juicy liveliness. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region inspires with good length. Again, there are plum and mulberry notes. In the finish, the mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone come together.
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Vernatsch. Only immaculate grape material was brought in for this wonderfully balanced monovarietal wine by Elena Walch. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into the calcareous soils. After the hand-picking, the grapes are immediately taken to the press. Here they are carefully selected and divided. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation of several months in French and Slavonian barrels.
